After a good week of solid Mango use, I must say its well worth the upgrade.

If you haven't tried a Windows Phone yet.

Mango will make you change your mind.

Its fast, integrated, polished.

We are currently developing a mango solution for a customer using

the amazing Telerik control suite.

Visual Studio, Silverlight, XNA makes developing for the phone an

enjoyable experience.

Today CastleSoft purchased two new development tools:  Monotouch and Mono for Android from Xamarin.

Ximarin are the team of developer behind Mono the cross platform .NET framework.

CastleSoft already uses Mono for Mac and Linux deployments, with todays announcement/purchase we now use their

tools for our mobile phone development platform.

Watch this space for more exiting news as CastleSoft prepares for some product releases.

Lots of enhancements that make developing for the phone enjoyable and productive.

Although Microsoft is playing catch up with the Phone 7 devices, the technology and design is far superior to

that of Apple and Android. 

At CastleSoft we specialize in .NET development and the new rich API in Mango is music to our ears.

Its in active development, and has a number of very positive reviews.

Not its time to put the finishing touches on our products which are WAY overdue.

It would appear that Microsoft is readying a new application model code name “Jupiter” that will allow developers to create Silverlight based applications, deployed as AppX packages (.appx).

These applications will run on the following platforms (without change):

• Windows 7, Windows 8 (Intel and ARM)
• Windows Phone 7 and Phone 8
• Xbox 360 and Xbox Next Generation (name not released)
• Windows 8 Tablets

Appstore purchases will be available for ALL platforms with the same application available for all platforms.
