The taste of Mango....

With Windows Phone Mango now available we have begun prototyping with the new Phone 7.1RC SDK.

Lots of enhancements that make developing for the phone enjoyable and productive.

Although Microsoft is playing catch up with the Phone 7 devices, the technology and design is far superior to

	that of Apple and Android.

At CastleSoft we specialize in .NET development and the new rich API in Mango is music to our ears.

Stay tune for more announcements soon.

Exception Handing/Tracking.

As we head towards our release we have purchased an exception tracking/debugging tool by EurekaLog.

EurekaLog for .NET catches exceptions, and reports them to our support system for attention.

With this exception reporting we hope to provide fast responses for any errors that may have escaped our testing.

We hope our customers never need to see these screens.

Thinking of it as our insurance policy to make sure we catch any gremlins which may occur in production environments.

Windows 8 and .NET

There has been a lot of talk regarding Windows 8, HTML5 and Javascript and the lack of .NET or Silverlight coverage.

It would appear that Microsoft is readying a new application model code name “Jupiter” that will allow developers to create Silverlight based applications, deployed as AppX packages (.appx).

These applications will run on the following platforms (without change):

Windows 7, Windows 8 (Intel and ARM)

Windows Phone 7 and Phone 8

Xbox 360 and Xbox Next Generation (name not released)

 Windows 8 Tablets

Appstore purchases will be available for ALL platforms with the same application available for all platforms.

For more details on Jupiter click here....
